Rapid Rupture Cationic Asphalt Emulsion: RR-1C and RR-2C

RAPID RUPTURE ASPHALT EMULSION – RR is a system constituted by the dispersion of an asphalt phase in an aqueous phase, presenting positively charged particles. It is normally used in the following types of service: simple surface treatment, multiple surface treatment, sealing layer / diluted bath, bonding paint and bituminous macadam.

Generally, it is applied at room temperature, which can vary between 25 ° C and 70 ° C; however, the ideal application temperature must always be observed depending on its viscosity. They should never be heated above 70 ° C.

In case of long-term storage, recirculation is recommended once a week for RR-1C and once every two weeks for RR-2C. Avoid successive recirculation and pumping so as not to decrease viscosity and rupture by included air.

In the dilution operation, add water to the emulsion and never the reverse. Do not store diluted emulsions. The loads of the transport trolleys must be complete in order to prevent agitation from altering the characteristics of the emulsion.
