The pavement simulator Asphalt Pavement Analyzer – APA, allows to evaluate the permanent deformation and the susceptibility to humidity of asphalt mixtures. The sensitivity of the samples to permanent deformation is estimated under metallic wheel loads, which are supported by standardized rubbers, in addition to this, it has a temperature controlled chamber. Automatic measurements are obtained by means of sensors, which determine the depth of the wheel track in each cycle. This equipment is perfect for assessing how much the asphalt mix tends to resist permanent deformation.
